Madison & Ian
The joy between Madison and Ian was contagious as we met at the Artist Point Trailhead at Mt. Baker for their engagement photos. We climbed up trails and through trees and along cliff sides around alpine lakes. With every stop, they shared little pieces of their story, how they met and began dating and recently made the big move out to the coast and settled in Bellingham. Between laughter and quiet moments, what kept surfacing was just how thrilled they are to be stepping into marriage and building a future side by side.
Every time I return to Artist Point, I’m reminded of how special this corner of the Cascades is. The sheer scale of it is breathtaking: Mt. Baker rising bold to the west, Mt. Shuksan’s jagged face to the east, and layers of ridgelines that seem to stretch on forever. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause, breathe a little deeper, and feel small in the best possible way. Capturing a small slice of Madison and Ian’s story in that setting felt like the perfect reflection what relationships are at their best, rooted in adventure and wide open to whatever comes next.
